Tile Roof Restoration

Concrete tile roofs are very durable and made of high-quality materials.  Many of the tile roofs I’ve seen are still going strong after 30 – 35 years. However, moss, algae and lichen work away at the concrete materials and the binders that hold the sand together. They accumulate in the valleys and at skylights eventually blocking the flow of water and causing leaks through damming. Combined with years of sun, wind, ice and rain, these conditions will wear down the tiles to a weak state and they’ll begin to crack and fail. Many home owners have asked me about a new roof because when they look at their roof, it seems like it has seen the end. This is not the case. In every tile roof I’ve inspected they needed only to be properly cleaned and sealed. Once the roof has been pressure washed the concrete tiles are coated with a clear or color sealer, protecting it against water absorption, cracking and providing stain resistance. This extends the life of the roof for another 7 – 15 years!

Asphalt Re-Roof

Asphalt shingle roofs are the most common residential roofing material. They cost the least to re-roof and many houses have everything they need to make an easy change over to new shingles. We tear off and replace the old shingles allowing the house to be protected for many more years! But not all roofs need to be replaced, if you don’t need a new one, we’ll let you know. These roofs can last for many years, but they last even longer with proper maintenance. Moss, algae and lichen can grow over the years and eat away at the roof. If you keep these organic growths off, it will last much longer. One of the services we provide for roofs that don’t need to be replaced is treating the roof with a moss killer and algae remover so it is restored to its natural glory!

Tar & Gravel Restoration

Tar and Gravel roofs have great protection from UV rays and are better able to drain water than other roof types. However, if they’re not installed well they may not last very long and they can be expensive to remove and replace. The roofs are built with (organic) paper layers that are laid down with asphalt. As the roof gets older, these layers shrink and tear away, exposing the wood below and opening up big cracks. Combined with the moss and dirt that accumulates over the years, these roofs can seem like a lost cause. However, this damage can be repaired and fixed. We clean, repair and coat your roof so its life is renewed and you don’t have to buy a new roof! We can add another 10 years to the life of the roof! These 10 years can even be extended again, so your roof lasts another 5 years after that!
